Jeanette Cole, DVM

Dr. Jeanette Cole was born and raised on Long Island, New York.  She was one of seven children who found her niche as caretaker of the family pets.  Jeanette is a graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM).  GO GATORS!  She focuses her veterinary career on companion animals, where she attends to the needs of Sarasota's finest dogs and cats and various other furry friends.  Jeanette truly loves all aspects of veterinary care, particularly, dermatology, internal medicine, behavior medicine, and surgery.

She also enjoys yoga, spending time with her family, SCUBA, fishing in Sarasota Bay, playing in the yard with the dogs, playing board games and reading books from the Sarasota libraries. She is also active in the nursery at Sarasota Alliance Church.

Christina Whitcomb, DVM

Dr. Christina grew up outside of Cleveland Ohio. She attended The Ohio State University, graduating magna cum laude with a bachelors degree in agriculture, and then continued on to veterinary school where she graduated in the top of her class in 2015.  Dr. Christina spent her summers off from school working here at Gulf Gate Animal Hospital and always knew she wanted to return to Sarasota after graduation.  She enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine and surgery, including pocket pets, with a special interest in dentistry, internal medicine, nutrition, and dermatology.  Dr. Christina shares her home with her rescue dogs and her cats, who help keep her dogs in line.

When not at the clinic, she enjoys cooking, fitness and cheering on the Buckeyes and Cleveland Cavaliers.

Marcie Burn, DVM

Joining our practice in June 2018 is Dr. Marcie Burn. Dr. Marcie grew up in Charleston, SC before moving to Sarasota for her high school years.  She worked at Gulf Gate Animal Hospital while attending high school as a technician before receiving her animal science degree and veterinary degree at the University of Florida.  She has practiced on the east coast for 9 years, but decided returning to Sarasota was where her heart lies. We are excited to welcome Dr. Marcie back to our Gulf Gate Animal Hospital family.  She has schnauzers and cats at home.

In her spare time she loves traveling with friends and family.  Once a year she runs a half marathon with college friends and enjoys playing indoor and beach volleyball.  Of course during football season she roots for the Gators!
